Here comes the season of applications for Master degree again!

This article aims to share some useful online interview experience and information I had in 2017 when applying for MSc Strategic Marketing at Imperial College London. Hope this would be helpful for people who are also interested in this competitive module.
Application Process
- Submitted my application on the website: 27/12/2017
- Received an invitation letter for online interview: 12/1/2018
- Deadline to complete online interview recording: 25/1/2018
Online video interview process
- The interview was held by the third party called www.kiraprep.com
- The interview questions were recorded and filmed in advance
- The senior administrator from ICL will show up in the video and ask you a few questions
- In total, there will be 5 questions, including 1 written question
- For every question you’ll be given 30 secs to prepare and 1 minute to respond
- In terms of the writing question, there will be 5 mins for you to type in answers
5 questions I was asked in the interview
Q1. Tell me what’s your greatest achievement? What have you learned from yourself as the result?
Q2. You are leading a team which members are with different personalities and objectives. How will you adapt your approach to give the best out of members?
Q3. Outside of the classroom, tell me about a time when you’ve accomplished a goal as part of a team. What did you learn from the experience?
Q4. Mail writing. Your mentor introduced a CEO to you by chance. However, the company he works for is the one you are very interested in. Try to write a draft email to invite the CEO for a coffee in order to introduce yourself to him.

Q5. How can you measure the success of a marketing campaign?
Tips for the interview preparation
- Use a laptop/computer to conduct the interview as you will need to complete the written question
- Do more research about the modules: What do they offer? Why do you want to study at ICL? Why do you think you’re qualified?
- Write down some hobbies you have outside of your study, as some applicants were asked to tell what their hobbies are
- Wear smart with a good glooming
- Get yourself a glass of water in case you got thirsty or caugh during the interview
- Do the interview in a bright place with a clean/white background
- Visit www.kiraprep.com to practice and get familiar with the process
Result
Though in the end I didn’t get the chance to enter Imperial College London (I was on their waiting list for the placement.), it was still a good experience to complete such an intensive and interesting online video interview.
